Montanita Estates and the ME Hotel resides on over 5 acres on a hill overlooking the small bohemian surf town of Montanita, 2.5 hours from Ecuador's largest city and commercial center, Guayaquil. Montanita and the surrounding small pueblos, Olon, Manglaralto, Curia, San Jose, Las Nunez and Entrada have since the late mid - 90s been a tropical escape from the hustle of Guayaquil as city dwellers discovered its pristine beaches and world class surf since named, La Punta. As more Ecuadorian's visited Montanita in the late 90s and early 2000s , the small town began to grow its reputation as a refuge for artisans and surfers to live a bohemian, carefree tropical lifestyle. Since then Montanita has grown into a vacation destination for families seeking a beautiful beach, surfers from around the world for its world class waves, and artisans and partygoers for the tropical vibe and party atmosphere that often does not end until 6 in the morning.
Montanita Estates opened its first building, Nexpa, in February 2013. Since 2013, we've expanded with 5 more buildings to over 20,000 sq. ft of rooms and Villas. As part of our commitment to nature and preserving the rustic appeal of Montanita we've committed over 2 acres to our beautiful tropical garden, three pools, four jacuzzi, and rustic restaurant / lounge. Montanita Estates is the only private community inside Montanita and is perfectly positioned on a hill overlooking the town, close enough for just a short walk to the heart of the town, but far enough away to have a good night's sleep.
Grounds and architectural philosophy
Montanita Estates seeks to combine Montanita's tropical setting with modern architectural design that creates a fusion of the environment with modern comforts. The ME Hotel is brand new and include all the modern amenities our guests require to be comfortable on their vacation while our garden, pool, lounge, and restaurant leave visitors with the feeling of entering an Ecuadorian rainforest as soon as they reach our gates.
